Milnor K-group Attached to a Torus and Birch-tate Conjecture

چکیده
We formulate (and prove under a certain assumption) a conjecture relating the order of Somekawa’s Milnor K-group attached to a torus T and the value of the Artin L-function attached to the cocharacter group of T (regarded as an Artin representation) at s = −1. The case T = Gm reduces to the classical Birch-Tate conjecture.

We construct an example of a torus T over a field K for which the Galois symbol K(K;T, T )/nK(K;T, T ) → H(K,T [n] ⊗ T [n]) is not injective for some n. Here K(K;T, T ) is the Milnor K-group attached to T introduced by Somekawa. We show also that the motiveM(T×T ) gives a counterexample to another generalization of the Milnor-BlochKato conjecture (proposed by Beilinson).

Let E be an elliptic curve over Q attached to a newform f of weight 2 on 00(N ), and let K be a real quadratic field in which all the primes dividing N are split. This paper relates the canonical R/Z-valued “circle pairing” on E(K ) defined by Mazur and Tate [MT1] to a period integral I ( f, K ) defined in terms of f and K . The resulting conjecture can be viewed as an analogue of the classical...

Let E be an optimal elliptic curve over Q of conductor N , such that the L-function of E vanishes to order one at s = 1. Let K be a quadratic imaginary field in which all the primes dividing N are split and such that the L-function of E over K also vanishes to order one at s = 1. In view of the Gross-Zagier theorem, the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture says that the index in E(K) of the sub...
